1.Place your jewelry in a small, non-metallic bowl (plastic is ideal).

2.Add a small amount of liquid dishwashing detergent directly to the piece—avoid bleach, vinegar, or laundry/dishwasher detergents.

3.Pour hot water (hot to the touch but not boiling) into the bowl.

4.Let the jewelry soak for 5 minutes.

5.Gently brush with a soft-bristle toothbrush.

6.Rinse thoroughly with warm water.

7.Dry carefully using a hair dryer.

For scratches on the metal (a natural occurrence due to the softness of gold), only professional polishing can restore its smooth finish.
